Oddfellows Hall listed as 'at risk'!
We at Devonport Live are very shocked to hear of Oddfellows Hall on Ker Street in Devonport being listed as ‘at risk’ by the English Heritage at Risk Register 2014.
Oddfellows Hall, was built in 1823 by John Foulston in the Egyptian Style.
Currently used as a social club, the Oddfellows Hall is among 26 other Plymouth Buildings to be named on the English Heritage at Risk Register for 2014.
Andrew Vines planning and conservation director for English Heritage in the South West has admitted more building have been taken off than added to the Risk Register 2014.
He said ‘We’re proud of our achievement this year in removing over 140 historic sites from the Register in the South West. We are on target nationally to save 25% or 1,137 sites that were on our Register in 2010 by 2015.’
