Devonport Community First Partnership are thrilled to announce that Devonport Live Café/Venue is now open, after weeks of refurbishment to the building. The new project based at 56-58 George Street, in Devonport, brings shop units back into use that have previously been sat empty for several years.
The aim of the project is to create an exciting new space for the community which takes the form of a coffee shop and arts space.
The Café will be serving hot drinks; fresh coffee (using Devon coffee company beans); lunches and snacks; speciality teas; homemade sandwiches also with a choice of filling and a variety of fruit and chocolates. Wherever possible the café uses local suppliers from around the Tamar Valley.
The space is also home to a gallery where a perfect Christmas present for a friend or family member can be found. Jewellery; scarves; paintings; sculptures; models and pottery – all hand crafted by local traders from Devon and Cornwall.
The community space will also host a variety of different community events and arts activities. Children’s film clubs are planned from January alongside art and photography exhibitions. From 12th January the space will host an exhibition from Fotonow – which consists of retrospective photos of Devonport.
Devonport Live Café/Venue will be open six days during the week – Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm and on Friday and Saturday from 9am – 6:00pm. Please note - Devonport Live Café/Venue will be closed on Sundays.
