Magdalena Mrova is originally from Slovakia, she says she was “lucky to be born at a time when mothers taught all of their practical skills to their children, helping them to learn skills such as handcrafts from a very early age.”Magda became self - employed in 2006 taking up new hobbies such as Photography and the art of Sewansome whilst living in Cornwall, and by 2012 Magda started trading her business in Plymouth.
Magda is fully certified in teaching adults and runs regular workshops to help share her passion and help to train others.
She runs workshops to cover dressmaking, soft furnishings, crafts, crochet and embroidery, and also offers full sewing and alteration services for clothing and soft furnishings as well as sewing services for bespoke Roman blinds, curtains and cushions. Magda can teach sewing as a workshop or on a 1-2-1 basis, the classes aren’t just for adults, they are for anyone of any ability from the age of eight.
Magda has plans to expand her services and offer more classes with external tutors, her plan is to eventually grow the business geographically, which so far has been promising with the prospect of organising workshops in the heart of London.
Magda’s next goals is to expand the business into upholstery which could include the likes of automotive, marine, domestic and commercial work.
